When I first moved to Melbourne, my new city seemed to me big and unfriendly. One day, I decided to Royal Melbourne Hospital for a medical exam because I was worried that maybe I had got a serious illness.

Not having a car, I had to get to the hospital by bus. However, I mistakenly got on a bus that and didn’t know what to do. I looked into the eyes of a woman who was walking past me. Surprisingly, instead of moving on , she stopped to ask if I was OK. I started to explain my situation to her, and tears started running down my face. When I was waiting for the bus at the bus stop, a car stopped beside me. It was the woman. She returned and offered to drive me to the hospital.

Such unexpected(出乎意料的)kindness from a stranger was a lonely gift for me. As I got out of the car at the hospital and turned to thank her, she smiled, said some nice words and told me to think positively(积极地), for all things are possible.

In most parts of the world, many students help their schools make less pollution. They join in environment clubs. In an environment club, people work together to keep the environment clean.

Here are the things students often do.

Turn off the water! Do you know that some toilets can waste twenty to forty tons of water an hour?

In a year, that would fill a small river! In environment clubs, students mend those broken toilets.

No- car day. On a no-car day, nobody comes to school in a car beither the students nor the teachers! Cars put pollution in the air, so remember: walk, jump, bike or un.
