Be an Optimist

Do you see the glass as half-full rather than hall empty? The two different answers to the question represent two different attitudes towards life — optimistic attitude and pessimistic attitude.

Optimism always leads to happiness, health and success while pessimism, by contrast, results in hopelessness, sickness and failure. That's because optimists and pessimists deal with the same challenges and disappointments in very different ways. When things go wong the pessimist tends to blame himsell, while the optimist looks for loop holes. The optimist feels in control of his oval life. If things are going badly, he acts quickly, looking for solutions, forming a new plan of action, and seeking for advice. On the contrary, the pessimist yields to the arrangement of fate and moves slowly. He doesn't seek advice, since he assumes nothing can be done.

Most people are a mix of optimism and pessimism. Optimism is important in all aspects of our lives. If you can change your mind from pessimism to optimism, you can change your life.

Be an Optimist

Most people are a mix of optimism and pessimism. Optimism is important in all aspects of our lives. If you can change your mind from pessimism to optimism, you can change your life. Hold to Your Dreams

Everyone has his dreams, but not all these dreams can come true. People give up their dreams for this or that reason. Those whose dreams become true have at least one thing in common, that is, they always hold fast to their dreams. Marie Curie, a famous scientist, has set a good example. In 1898, Marie found a new element in the pitchblende. In order to prove her discovery, she must get it and show it to the world. Then to get the new element became her dream and goal of her life. After four years' hard work and refinement of tons of pitchblende, Marie and her husband at last saw the dim blue light of the new element — radium. Her dream had come true. There are many other examples. Just around us, for instance, the athletes who gain the gold medals, the artists who are popular with the public, and even the students who enter tile university after years of hard study and preparation, are all dream-holders.

Hold fast to your dreams, no matter how big or small they are. The path to dreams may not be smooth and wide, even some sacrifices are needed, but hold on to the end, you, still find there is no greater happiness than making your dream come true.

If your life feels like it is lacking the power that you want and the motivation that you need, sometimes all you have to do is shift your point of view.

By training your thoughts to concentrate on the bright side of things, you are more likely to have the incentive to follow through on your goals. You are less likely to be held back by negative ideas that might limit your performance. Your life can be enhanced, and your happiness enriched, when you choose to change your perspective. Don't leave your future to chance, or wait for things

to get better mysteriously on their own. You must go in the direction of your

hopes and aspirations. Begin to build your confidence, and work through problems rather than avoid them. Remember that power is not necessarily control over situations, but the ability to deal with whatever comes your way. Always believe that good things are possible, and remember that mistakes can be lessons that lead to discoveries. Take your fear and transform it into trust; learn to rise above anxiety and doubt. Turn your "worry hours" into "productive hours". Take the energy that you have wasted and direct it toward every worthwhile effort that you can be involved in. You will see beautiful things happen when you allow yourself to experience the joys of life. You will find happiness when you addopt positive thinking into your daily routine and make it an important part of your world.

、 On Talents

Why did some people become world-famous and admired by millions of others? Were they really more talented than other people? Or did they succeed through hard work? In my opinion, talents play a less important role than hard work in people's studies or work.

First of all, if we work hard, we can make good use of our talents. As is known to all, Madame Curie won the Nobel Prize twice for her great scientific discoveries. She achieved her success by making experiments one after another.

Besides, hard work can cultivate our talents. Edison, the inventor of light, was said to be stupid when he was young. By making great efforts in his wark, he become more and more clever and succeeded in his work. In fact, we can all get ahead in our studies or work through hard work.

In short, in our studies and work, talents are not so important as hard work. Working hard, our talents can be fully made use of and well cultivated.

Laziness

Laziness is a sin. everyone knows that. We have probably all had lectures pointing out that lazi- ness is immoral, that it is wasteful, and that lazy people will never amount to anything in life. But laziness can be more harmful than that, and it is often caused by more complex reasons than the simple wish to avoid work. Some people who appear to be lazy are suffering from much more serious problems. They may be so distrustful of their fellow workers that they are unable to join in any group task for fear of being laughed at or fear of having their ideas stolen. These people who seem lazy may be deadened by a fear of failure that prevents fruitful work. Or other sorts of fantasies may prevent work: some people are so busy planning, sometimes planning great deals of fantastic achievements, that they are unable to deal with whatever " lesser " work is on hand. Still other people are not avoiding work, strictly speaking; they are nearly procrastinating—rescheduling their day.

Laziness can actually be helpful. Like procrastinators, some people look lazy when they are really thinking, planning, researching. We should all remember that some great scientific discoveries occurred by chance. Newton wasn’t working in the orchard when the apple hit him and he devised the theory of gravity. Taking a rest can be particularly helpful to the athlete who is trying too hard or the doctor who’s simply working himself overtime too many evenings at the clinic.

So be careful when you’ re tempted to call someone lazy. That person may be thinking, resting or planning his or her next book.

Challenges can be regarded as motivations instead of barriers as long as you can hold a positive attitude.

Inevitably, our life is filled with various challenges. So long as we are brave enough to fight against them and never say never, we are sure to conquer/conquest them one day.

Only persistence and bravery will enable us to live through all the difficulties and challenges.

Faced with great difficulty and challenges, we are supposed to try our best to find a way out, which results in our final success.

We are supposed to find a way out independently, but never relay on others completely.

Value/cherish every walking moment, set your own living purpose and eventually make efforts to realize it.

To achieve success, setting a goal is of the same importance as cherishing time.

Knowledge can just be called knowledge if it goes without experiences.

The knowledge we learn from books can only be useful when it is properly applied to our real life.

Never bury your head in the sea of books and exercises. We should make it a perfect combination between knowledge and practices.

We are supposed to combine theory with practice but never focus on the knowledge of the book.

Everyone has his own strengths and weaknesses.{

We are supposed to do …. but never do sth.
