Travel is a very good means of broadening a person's perspective. It makes you come into contact with different cultures, meet people of different colors and go through peculiar rites and ceremonies. Travelling much, you will not only enrich your knowledge and experiences, but also be aware of the vastness of nature.

文章二:旅游英语作文

The field's his study, nature was his book.

Travelers can choose different modes of transportation which have advantages and disadvantages. Airplanes are the fastest but also the most expensive. Buses and trains are less expensive, but they soon make you feel cramped and uncomfortable. Ships provide you with comfort unless you get seasick. Most people can afford traveling by bicycle, which, although slow, can limber up your muscles and get you closer to nature.

文章三:关于旅游的英语作文

I love traveling. Traveling not only broadens my horizons but also opens my eyes to the world. What's more, it refreshes me. You can go to Disneyland and experience what it's like to be “a child again!” You can visit one of the “seven wonders of the world,” such as the Grand Canyon and feel the magnificence of nature! You can taste the “magicial” ice water on a glacier, which can help you become more beautiful and make you live longer. Just forget all trifles and burdens that you have in your mind. Experience is a type of living knowledge. You'll be sure to experience many new things when traveling. You don't even need a tour guide if you long for more freedom. 篇三:《英语作文:一次难忘的经历 An Unforgettable Experience》

An Unforgettable Experience

There are various activities in the college, such as hiking, gathering, competitions and so on. And what impresses me most is my experience of being a volunteer teacher.

I was a freshman when the School of Foreign Languages organized a voluntary activity which aimed at providing children in poor areas with a better education. As a matter of fact, I did not show any interest in this activity, for I thought that I just wasted my time and energy without getting any pay. But finally I followed the trend and went to the interview for a try. To my surprise, I was enrolled as a member of the teaching group. I became quite excited and made up my mind to prepare for the class as well as I could. I read their textbook again and again to make sure that I was familiar with the language points. What’s more, I searched on the Internet for some additional information, which I thought would help me a lot in the class. At that time, I really could not wait to give the lecture.

Fortunately, it didn’t keep me waiting too long. It was a sunny day. And we spent almost an hour in the bus. Although I was tired and sleepy, my enthusiasm overwhelmed my tiredness. The school is a small place full of various books. The children there were so lovely that they left me a deep impression. They keep asking me

questions about study and they were also curious about the college life. I was quite happy surrounded by a group of children.

I really benefit a lot from the unforgettable experience. I realize that money and some material things should not be considered as the most important thing in our life. It is the self-realization that really makes our life meaningful. Although I did not get any material things from this activity, I was very happy for what I did for the children. So I hold that we should not just consider the salary in job-hunting, we should also think about whether the job can bring you spiritual enjoyment or not.

An Impressive Experience

I still remember that day in summer when I was a junior two student. I went to Guangzhou Changlong Underwater World where I went scuba diving for the first time. It was really an unusual experience.

It was a torrid summer day .Can't resisting the temptation of the cold pool water, I decided to make a try to scuba diving. The first thing to do is learning to wear the special diving suit. It was so tight that it took me a long time to finish it. I almost can't breathe in the beginning when compressed by the elastic suit .Then I wore the diving mask and flippers and succeeded in taking an oxygen bottle on my back with the help of the coach.

After that it was time to enter the water. I walked to the pool side slowly with the heavy on my back .After being arranged a guide with me, we went along the steps hand in hand until the water was over the top of our heads. When we totally entered the pool, it seemed a little difficult for me to keep sinking. I tried to jump in the water to make me sink but I failed and it was really clumsy. There is no denying that I became more nervous so I had to be pulled by the guide. For a while we had dived into the depths of the pool. All kinds of fishes and plants were around us. I was pretty amazing and couldn't wait to approach them. I let go of the guide's hand gently to reach them. Because of the behavior I gradually felt at ease. I swayed my body by myself freely in the water. At last I even rose to the surface by myself.

Though it was just a brief experience, it wasn't as simple as seems. I really felt excited but also exhausted. I'm looking forward to journey to the bottom of the wonder world next time.

大禹治水园 Dayu Park to commemorate King Yu

King Yu Tamed the Flood

Long time ago, it was said that a deluge engulfed a huge area of land claimed many lives, so King Shun sent Yu to control the flood.

Talking with seniors, Yu drew lessons from the past water-control experience. After the field survey, he made up a feasible plan. Then he led people to divert he floods, and during this time, though he actually passed by the door of his own home for three times, he didn’t go in. With 13-year persistent efforts under his leadership, 9 large rivers were finally dredged leading floods into the sea.

While harnessing the floods, Yu, along with others, helped people rebuild their homes, fallowed lands and resumed production. In this way, he gave the common people a peaceful and contented life and achieved an immortal feat. At that time, to commemorate Yu the Great, the whole country was called “the City of Yu”; and for his feat, a mausoleum called “Yu Ling” was built in his honor by the later generations.

晴川阁Qingchuan Pavilion

Qingchuan Pavilion, located at the foot of Tortoise Hill in Hanyang district, faces the Yellow Crane Tower on the other side of the Yangtze River. It is a key cultural relic protected by Wuhan City. First built during Jiajing Year of Ming Dynasty(1522-1567), the pavilion got its name from a poem written by Cui Hao, a famous poet in Tang Dynasty. Although it does not have such a long history as the Yellow Crane Tower, you are able to have a wonderful birds-eye view on top of it. The pavilion boasts a specially-designed shape, thus winning the title of the “The First Pavilion of Chu”(a kingdom located within the present Hubei Province during the period from770 B.C. to 221 B.C.){一次武汉旅游经历英语作文}.

归元寺 Guiyuan Temple{一次武汉旅游经历英语作文}.

Today we will visit the famous temple—-Guiyuan Temple. It is a famous relic of Wuhan. And it is built between the late Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty by the rabbis of Baiguang and zhufeng ,until now it is over 300 years old.Guiyuan Temple together with Baotong Temple,Lianxi Temple and Zhengjue Temple are regarded as the four big temples of Wuhan.

Now we arrived at our dastination—Guiyuan temple. So let us go into it to have a good time.

Ok now we have stood in the Buddhist Scriptures pavilion where the scripture of Buddhism are kept.

Please look at the jade statue .It is a statue fo Sakyamani, the fouder of Buddhism. It is said that he founded Buddhism in India in the 6th century BC. You can see it caved with a gteat block of pure white jade weighing 3 tons ,it was presented to Wuhan by an eminent monk of Burma in 1935.And it is preserved well till now. If we watch the statue, we may sense that the peaceful expression on the Buddha’s face has brought us to a quiet and harmonious state.

We’ll pay a visit to a very serious, sacred place. Generally, the place is regarded as the most holy by Buddhists. It is the Grand Hall, where the founder of Buddhism, Sakyamuni is worshiped. It is always the center of a Buddhist temple in construction and in Buddhists’ mind. The statue in the middle is Sakyamuni. These two statue beside the Buddha are his two disciples. The one on the right was said to be Sakyamuni’s cousin and he had good memory so that he could remember all the Buddha told his disciples. The one on the left was said to be the lord of Brahmnism and he once was Sakyamuni’s tutor. But afterwards he was convinced by Buddhism after long-term debate between Buddhism and other religions and he accepted Sakyamuni as his tutor. Thus he became the eldest one of all Sakyamuni’s disciples. At the back of Sakyamuni’s stutue is the wood-carving of Guangyin ,you see ,the wood—caving remains very well ,although it is already 300 years old.It stands at a slant of 30 degrees,so it is a very rare carving all over the world at present.According to the legend ,in ancient times, there was a kind of big animal in the South China Sea,people called it Ao fish, when it turned over his body ,the earthquake would happen and disasters would fall down to people ,in order to save people and let people lead a comfortable life,Guanyin defeated Ao Fish and stood on the head of it and made it never turn over its body.In the wood-caving ,behind Guanyin were the twenty-four guardians carrying out rhe Buddhist law.Besides Guanyin, stand her two disciples ,the right one is named Pupil Shancai. And the left one is named longnu. Ok,Next, we’ll pay a visit to the Arhat Hall in the south court. The Arhat Hall is an important structure in a Buddhist temple. But not all temples have an Arhat Hall, especially, well-kept Arhat Halls are very rare in China. This one is among them, and what’s more, it has its own unique characteristics. Generally, an Arhat Hall is a square building. The building is subdivided into four small square courts so that the hall can get enough sunlight. This kind of structure show some lucky implies in Chinese Buddhist culture. Another characteristic about the hall lies in these sculptures themselves. They were neither made up of wood, nor stone, nor clay. A special way

was taken in making them, which could prevents them from being burned, being soaked or being eaten by insects. All the sculptures were floating in water while Wuhan was flooded in 1954, but, surprisingly, they were sound and safe after the flood had receded. It was really a wonder.

As we know that, arhats are the immortals in Buddhism. But when you have a look around the sculptures, you may find from the expressions on their faces that they are so familiar to you. That’s only because they were molded on the basis of the people in the reality, so they are human beings in our daily life rather than immortals. Arhats are the symbols of harmony, happiness, and good luck, so the Wuhan natives have got used to counting arhats since ancient time to pray for peace. There are a few ways of counting arhats. We can count from the first arhats from left to right or from right to left, when we just enter the hall. We can also choose any arhats as our starting point, and count in the same way, left to right or right to left. We should base counting on our own ages whatever we take. For example, I’m 21, so I should stop in front of the 21th arhat from the starting arhat. The sculpture in front of which I stop is my lucky arhat. My lucky arhat will accompany me to spend a peaceful and lucky year. Wouldn’t you like to have a try now? If you need, I can explain connotation of some arhats.
